E24 - What Does the Staff Say? Team-Based Care Modules that Support the Delivery of Patient-Centered Primary Care (Room 215-216)

03 Nov 19
1:45 PM - 2:45 PM

Tracks: Lessons Learned

The Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) is an exemplary model of care. However, there are limited studies that investigate the performance of newly constructed team-based primary care clinics. Garnering the different staff perspectives on how the physical environment supports or hinders the delivery of care is essential for improving clinic designs. This study will present findings from three different clinics using ethnographic techniques to reveal clinical staff perceptions on the functionality of different types of team-based clinical module configurations. Planning and design recommendations will show how to design for team-based clinical modules that accommodate the variety of staff needs in PCMH clinics.
