E40 - Reimagining the ICRA/PCRA Process (Room R02)

03 Nov 19
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Tracks: Facility, Project & Asset Management

The objective of the pre-construction risk assessment (PCRA) is to mitigate hazards and risks accompanying construction activities in a complex environment. These hazards include occurrences of HAIs, risk of fire, and other dangers associated with construction activities. PCRA is an overarching program that includes the infection control risk assessment (ICRA); life safety and interim life safety measures; and a risk assessment program for utility impacts such as noise, vibration, and indoor air quality. This presentation will offer a new look at the PCRA/ICRA utilizing an electronic system put into practice in a large health system in New York. Presenters will discuss where the project started and where it is now in terms of risk mitigation.
