The 1990s saw the emergence of innovative children’s hospitals, featuring imaginative designs that differentiated these facilities from their adult counterparts. Over the last 30 years, much has changed in pediatric design. This latest edition of the Hospital ICONs program will focus on children’s hospitals, then and now. Architectural case studies will present the next generation of children’s healthcare facilities, including new acute care, diagnostic and treatment, and outpatient facilities. As always, this ICONs program will share important lessons-learned from these ground-breaking children’s hospitals, including project data, interviews and videos with project leaders, architectural photography, and post-occupancy feedback on the projects.
