When publishing its 2017 flooring request for proposal (RFP), this hospital system took an inquisitive and fresh approach to the traditional RFP process. By engaging internal stakeholders and designers with varying interests and expectations, this community approach sought to provide the best flooring solutions to deliver optimum results. With a goal of contracting a single manufacturer (or a team of manufacturers), the flooring industry was asked to validate a consolidated flooring package that provided solutions to flooring challenges, value/cost savings, and an inventory/stocking program, and speaks to the health system brand. Did this approach deliver results? These findings and lessons learned will be examined in this roundtable panel discussion.
