T01 - The Children’s Hospital of New Orleans (Room Follow signs outside Hall G to Shuttle Pick-Up)

02 Nov 19
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

The transformation of The Children’s Hospital of New Orleans consists of 400,000 square feet of expansion and renovation within 600,000 square feet combined inpatient and outpatient campus. This multi-phased modernization will take approximately seven years, from master planning to completion, and will require 32 distinct construction phases, with minimal interim moves and no interruptions to day-to-day operations. The campus transformation will include the replacement of all outdated building systems, clinical spaces and work-flow processes. The overall design will resolve poor patient experience and promote staff retention.

Significant improvements include a new Emergency Department, a new Inpatient Radiology Department, a new Peri-Operative Department with private pre- and post-op rooms, a new Minor Procedure Suite, a new CICU / CNICU with all private rooms, a new Observation / Acute Care Unit with all private rooms, and a new Cancer Center of Excellence with inpatient and outpatient services on a single floor.  Other improvements include a new ‘front door’ and lobby experience for patients and families, a new Food Service Kitchen and public Dining, the relocation of Materials Management to the ‘back door’ of the hospital, the separation of on-stage and off-stage circulation throughout the facility, and a new Central Utility Plant for the entire campus.
