Army Enterprise Service Desk (AESD) Convergence to ARCYBER: A Contributing Element in Today's Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) (Room Nautilus Suite)

Approved for 1 CompTIA CEU: A+, Network+, Security+, CASP, Cloud+, CySA+, and PenTest+

The Army Enterprise Service Desk (AESD) provides a single point of contact for all DoDIN-A (Department of Defense Information Network-Army) IT Service requests, incidents and inquiries.  The AESD provides 24/7/365 support for over 1.4 million Army customers and is intergrated across Army Theater Signal Commands to provide IT service operations globally.

The AESD is in the process of converging to ARCYBER.  The AESD converging effort affects the entire Army's IT efforts, will lead to operational efficiencies and will directly support DoDIN-A operations and Defense Cyber Operations (DCO) efforts.  Enterprise service desk operations is an example of evolutionary Army operations that add value as a force multiplier.

ARCYBER is currently pursuing a concept that leverages a unified enterprise service desk capability as a contributing element to DCO that enhances the Cyber Common Operating Picture (COP).

The AESD is the first responder to end-users, which makes it the front-line sensor that will provide greater situational awareness to the DCO COP.

Specific topics to be addressed include:

  • The AESD convergence to ARCYBER
  • The role the AESD plays in today's cyber operating environment
  • The AESD's cyber sensor function, capabilities and what it provides to the DCO COP
  • ARCYBER's convergence model, innovations, way forward and end state
