Transparency initiatives have been touted by both the public and private sector to claim victory in sharing information with their clients. But releasing data and information into the wild is just the first step… as good stewards of data we must ensure that we are giving our residents and stakeholders the tools and context to actually understand and use the data that we share. In this session, we’ll dive into how the City of New Orleans has been doing this through a number of channels: open data, user-friendly and platform agnostic apps, interactive visualizations and in-person training.
