Blockchain technologies and the cannabis industry are rapidly transforming. Everyday innovative technologies are designed and developed to address industry challenges. These two fields are fundamentally changing each other and becoming increasingly integrated. We discuss how blockchain technologies can be applied to the growing cannabis industry; specifically, within the cannabis industry’s distribution and supply chain management. The discussion will provide a basic understanding of the technology, how it can be applied to existing strategic business models, and its practical application in growing global industries, such as the US cannabis industry.
