CGS5: The Internet of Water: Insights in Water Quality Using Large-Scale Sensor Networks (Room Meeting Room 211CD)

26 Jun 19
3:30 PM - 4:20 PM
Marcel Zevenbergen, Imec the Netherlands // In 2025, half of the world population will be living in water-stressed areas. Real-time insights in water quality are needed for optimal water management. This session explores the potential of extremely powerful but very small sensor platforms that can be applied in high volume, densely-spaced networks for real-time water monitoring. Detecting heavy-metals, other pollutants or even bacteria is part of our long-term roadmap, and nanometer-sized silicon structures provide the tools for future sensor generations.
