Cable-Tec Expo 2019

Building a 10G Network (Room Exhibit Hall - Innovation Theater)

In the next three years, it is estimated that each person in North America will have over a dozen connected devices, and while there is no single device today that needs a multigigabit connection, the significant increase in connected devices per home will demand unprecedented levels of capacity in the future. That’s where 10G comes in. 10G is not just an idea but a technical roadmap that Comcast and other industry leaders are already putting into place, enabled in part, by distributed access architecture and virtualization within our core network. The development of the fastest, highest capacity network to date requires innovation across our technology and operating tools that will give us insight into the network at a moment’s notice. In this presentation, we will discuss the technology necessary to create a new level of connectivity that allows for life-changing technologies such as connected health and augmented and virtual reality while providing reduced latency, enhanced reliability and better security.
