Fire and EMS agencies need to know the difference between an inquiry and an investigation into employee conduct/performance and how it applies to 9-1-301 FF/EMT Procedural guarantees. 9.1-302 "Breach of Procedures" was amended and effective July 1, 2019. The change makes the evidence obtained during interrogation that violates 9.1-301 FF/EMT Procedural Guarantees inadmissible in an administrative hearing against FF/EMT personnel.
