S16 ABA - Know Your Audience: Customizing Jury Trial Skills for a Mediation (Room Palos Verdes 6)

This program involving experience trial and ADR counsel, ADR professionals and a demonstrative evidence professional will provide guidance on how to best use and modify jury trial skills in an ADR venue, including the "opening argument", effective use of examination skills, experts and demonstrative evidence and, when to back off of courtroom techniques.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Understand when jury trial skills can be used in ADR and when they are not effective.
  • Understand best practices in an ADR setting for use of experts, demonstrative evidence and examination techniques.
  • Observe how to modify their jury presentations to effectively present opening and closing statements in an ADR setting.
