ADSS Life Cycle Study Results—An International Review (Room 204)

This session will examine the results of UTC’s All Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS) Optical Cable Lifecycle Study, conducted early in 2019. Speakers will present key findings from the study, such as exploring how the age of deployed ADSS fiber correlates to failures or signal attenuation, how ADSS is deployed and maintained, and specific issues such as splicing, fiber characterization testing, and tracking. The presentation is based upon 67 responses from utilities across North America, Europe, and South Africa.
