This session will focus on current and future trends and directions in the phytosanitary arena; challenges of complying with the varied and ever increasing phytosanitary requirements of trading partners; opportunities for new approaches including E-Phyto, systems approaches and new technologies that could offer improved phytosanitary security through improved genetics and treatment technologies. Samantha Thomas from Bayer will address this from a global seed company perspective, Osama El-Lissy from USDA-APHIS will focus on the NPPO perspective, and Stephanie Bloem from NAPPO will focus on the RPPO/IPPC perspectives.
