Co-Opetition: Reducing Cost and Creating Value Through Partnerships (Room W304 E-H)

With the proliferation of value-based payment across the nation, managed care organizations (MCOs) and providers are challenged to jointly improve the health of the communities they serve while simultaneously bending the cost curve. The result has been increased “co-opetition” between MCOs and providers as they have come together and find creative solutions. This session will explore how providers are defining their value propositions, leveraging data and taking on traditional MCO roles to be a partner of choice for MCOs. A leader with an accountable care organization (ACO) will highlight how building a robust data analytics platform has changed the ACO’s negotiations and partnerships with MCOs and health system partners.
