This lecture will focus on brief descriptions of Syria, Iran, Israel, the Palestinians, and Saudi Arabia, based loosely on excerpts from two of my books, A World Elegy, Perspectives on Global Affairs and Allah’s Warriors, The Global Islamic Militancy Movement, and personal living experiences in the region. I will explain why the Middle East is littered with the debris of false initiatives, hollow and shallow diplomatic pronouncements, failed peace accords, two-tongued language agreements, broken promises, and the bones of combatants.
