The sport of lockpicking has long been a pasttime for kids and adults alike. Very popular in many European countries, locksport encourages participants to develop a tactical understanding of puzzles, to use their hands, and to develop strong spacial reasoning. The village concept is that individuals can come in, watch a basic introduction, and start with some basic introductory locks. The communal nature of the event is that people sit down and learn from each other how the sport works and most can quickly become successful in opening basic locks. The content provided follows that of TOOOL, which is an internationally based nonprofit organization that helps promote the sport and has local clubs around the world.
