Our Circular Economy: Transforming Ideas into Action (Room Room 122AB)

Pursuing a circular economy is good for the environment, society and the economy. Research indicates that community-scale development is ideal for implementing a circular economy. Now the question is, "How?"… How can local governments and their partners transform the idea of the circular economy into a reality in their communities? This panel discussion, moderated by Corinne Rico of GBB, answers this question by speaking with communities that have already taken steps toward circularity. These communities—all at the forefront of the move toward circularity—have set precedents and models that other local governments and their partners can use for inspiration in their own plans and strategies. Explore the essential first steps any community interested in developing a local circular economy should take, including key strategic partnerships, community buy-in, major turning points and lessons learned.

SPECIAL NOTE:

This year, WASTECON brings you special "Discovery Series" sessions that — together— explore a topic in more details. Consider participating in the following sessions to take a deep dive into the circular economy.
