IT2 | Developing and Implementing GPU-Enabled VDI for Student Success (Room Dixie)

Today’s students and educators heavily rely on mobile devices that allow anywhere, anytime access to applications and data. While virtual desktop infrastructure solutions have come a long way in recent years, allowing for rapid deployment, massive scaling, and highsatisfaction user experiences, VDI implementation remains a complex, long-term project. In this session, you will learn the strategies and path that the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering took to implement graphics processing unit-enabled VDI — a path that boosts student academic success while reducing desktop support, management, and security costs. You will explore the critical challenges that GPU-enabled VDI solves in education; strategies to win over faculty, students, administrators, and other stakeholders; and common VDI implementation pitfalls to avoid.
