Students today require a near-perfect wireless experience on campus. If there’s a problem connecting or using a particular application or gaining access to needed college resources, you’ll hear about it on social media. At Guilford College, the goal is to provide students with the same wireless experience they have at home. To ensure it can meet that goal and provide measurable, reliable Wi-Fi services, the school is leveraging artificial intelligence in its wireless LAN infrastructure. The system learns as it goes, so that IT can tell where, when and what types of issues specifically are happening in particular areas of the campus or within buildings. You will come away with an understanding of: why Guilford decided to transition to a cloud-based wireless infrastructure; how AI works in the school’s wireless network, and how these advances can be harnessed to better meet the needs of students.
