TL11 | University Mergers: The CIO's Perspective From the New Jefferson University (Room Citrus)

Two Philadelphia universities merged in the summer of 2017 to form a new, combined institution, Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University). This session will dissect the challenges, opportunities, cultural nuances, as well as the successes that have taken place since the integration of these two very different, yet synergistic, universities. The presenters will discuss the human resource aspects of the merger, the processes surrounding the consolidation of ERP systems, student information systems, communication tools, academic systems, and the numerous opportunities to share and consolidate resources. You’ll learn best practices, practices that require extensive planning, and those that should be avoided, as well as find out what actions/decisions the team would possibly change in their next merger.
