Innovation is a concept that challenges many universities. Marist struggled to engage and inspire faculty to use innovative tools and pedagogies as they teach their courses. Many faculty were unsure how to define educational innovation and were nervous to try new and advanced educational technologies or digital pedagogies on their own without support. In response, the Digital Education team decided to be proactive and engage faculty by providing opportunities for collaborative discussion, content building, and technology trials in the university’s Digital Education lab. These engagement strategies included meet-andgreet sessions, multi-day workshops, idea-share sessions, and open lab times. This session will discuss the faculty feedback received as well as the successes and challenges faced during implementation of this initiative.
