AV9 | Technology Spaces Without User Interfaces (Room Columbia)

12 Jun 19
9:00 AM - 9:45 AM

Tracks: AV Integration

Notre Dame has been offering more and more small technology spaces around the college, while using fewer and fewer user interfaces to control them. The university has defined the scope and capabilities of a space, selected technology with smarter feature sets, and programmed those systems with specific design goals — all while implementing a range of “automatic” systems that require no traditional user input to operate. This session will address the ways that technology has changed to enable this sort of system, how users of technology have changed their expectations over time, and the thought process behind Notre Dame’s automatic designs and integrations. You’ll also learn how wireless collaboration and BYOD video devices can both help and hurt this sort of a control scheme.

Note: This session is presented by CCUMC, a UBTech program partner.
