Tracks: Active Classroom

Four years ago, the American University Registrar brought together stakeholders from across campus to form a Classroom Improvement Committee (CIC) to explore classroom needs and create a modernization plan. After a thorough survey of all learning spaces campuswide, a plan was developed to modernize technology as well as furniture and physical aspects of classrooms. Funding secured, the committee now had a mission: modernize 25 rooms per year to adhere to new standards also developed by the committee. Come hear what AU did to create its CIC so you can replicate it at your institution. You’ll learn the value created by having a cross-departmental group focused on classrooms, and how AU organized its modernization plan so you can use it as a guide for creating your own.
