The authentic appearance of riveting characters in haunts is the goal of every make-up artist and haunt owner. Additionally, it’s such realism that causes our patrons to cringe with fear. All the while, the scare we want to avoid is an authentic problem caused to our actor by the make-up we use. This session will focus on haunt make-up application safety and hygiene, common ailments and pitfalls, along with legal ramifications. Illnesses that develop from an attempt to save a few dollars may eventually be hauntingly costly to attraction owners, not to mention, terrifying for the suffering actor(s). Such disasters could be avoided by applying suggestions from this presentation. We have a responsibility to promote and exercise safety across all aspects of the haunt industry.
