HAuNTcon 2020

Horror Fiction and Haunted Attractions (Room Conference Room #2)

Human beings have been telling ghost stories as long as there have been…well, human beings.  Stories have been used to entertain and to educate.  This seminar, lead by author and attraction consultant Scott Swenson, will focus on how to use literature (either original or public domain) to create haunted attractions and how to translate stories from haunted attractions into published works.  Case studies will include haunted attractions from Theme Park events and the independent evening of elegant fear, The Vault of Souls.  Scott will also discuss how he has taken some of his brainstorming notes for haunts and used them as inspiration for his multiple books of dark poetry and prose.  During the show, Scott will be selling and signing copies of his latest book, Awake in the Dark.
