Tracks: Lightning Lesson

Water management of irrigation and climate control can aid optimizing cultivation and maintaining regulatory compliance. For growers, operators and investors, this translates to improving plant quality, improving efficiency, and creating greater visibility of their crops and return on investments.

As regulatory oversight continues to evolve, this industry is not yet governed by a national set of water use standards. This session will share how other legal states have implemented Best Management Practices (BMP’s), and how to interpret Massachusetts’s Guidance on BMP's for Water Use.

Several innovative and effective technologies will be discussed that allow for irrigation water recycling, condensate reclamation, and proper waste stream management, as well as highlight new efforts to integrate technologies never applied to commercial farming. This presentation will also explain how to adopt data driven farm management tools and various forms of IoT technologies. Lastly, this session will review equipment that can be used to monitor, control and audit water usage.
