Over the past year several new plant pathogens have been discovered that are able to infect Cannabis. Some of these pathogens can cause dramatic yield loses. It is important to understand which Cannabis pathogens you should be looking out for in your growing operations and how to combat them. Especially since pest management in Cannabis in legalized adult-use and medicinal markets differs markedly from other crops of economic importance due to limitations in chemical control options and indoor growing practices. As the industry matures with increasing demand for product knowledge and pesticide regulation, the nature of pest management in Cannabis will change. There will be greater research on the safety, application methods and efficacy of available control options.
