Is Cannabis Policy 20/20? Cannabis policy is moving at an unprecedented pace at the national level. The House of Representatives recently passed the SAFE Banking Act, sending it to the Senate, and the MORE Act recently passed out of the House Judiciary Committee. According to a 2019 CBS poll, a record 65% of those in the U.S. of support cannabis legalization. But, as public opinion shifts across political affiliation, Congress has been slow to catch up. If the majority of American voters are ready for decriminalization and legalization, why has Congress been so slow to take action? What are the remaining obstacles stopping Congress from enacting full legalization? How should cannabis advocates navigate the path to end prohibition? And, what can we expect for 2020 and beyond?
