Hair Raising Adventures in the Land of the Bear!

This talk will emcompass nearly 3 decades of hunting and outfitting in the "Land of the Bear." This is the nickname given to Russia because of the large number of brown bears living there...2/3 of all the brown bears in the world! I will start out with the fear and trepidation of journeying to what President Reagan called the "Evil Empire". My first year there in 1991 it was still the Soviet Union. Because the Russians didn't know if I was really a hunter or a CIA agent, I was shadowed everywhere I went those first few years by the KGB! I call it "Hanging out with the KGB!" From there I'll tell stories about bear encounters, bear attacks and bear hunting. Lots of gut wrenching stories as the Russians were never allowed to own guns like we do so they were helpless and defenseless when venturing into the wilderness to fish, trap, etc. I retired the No. 1 brown outfitter in the world!
