Paper Mache' products are Light-weight, Portable and Compact. The colour pallette of the colelction is about elegance, luxury, sophistication and signify statement pieces that celebrate a rich antique look. The range includes delicate, luxurious treasures for the home and personal use.
Kashmir Paper mache’ is a 15th century craft involving the transformation of paper pulp into intricately decorated products and artefacts. In the process of making a Paper-mache’ product, there are two distinct groups of artisans are involved- namely, Sakhtasaz, who makes the object with paper pulp; the second being Naqqash, one who creates the ornamentation of the surface with colours.
ROOH is a platform and a tool created by Sasha to bridge the gap between the Paper Mache’ artisans of Zadibal in Srinagar of Kashmir in India; and the global world. So that artisans are empowered to carry their skill forward, as it were before, in a form that fits today.
The project is supported under the Jhelum Tawi Flood Rehabilitation Project (JTFRP) in collaboration with teh Governmnet of Jammu & Kashmir and World Bank.
