I was born on 13th March 1974 in Helsinki, Finland. I started my studies in the Helsinki University of Technology in 1993 at the Machine technology department. My main study was Energy technology and environmental protection but my real passion was in control engineering. I worked as an assistant in control engineering laboratory under professor Heikki Koivo during years 1995-1997. I did my diploma thesis in 1998 for IVO technology center (former Imatran Voima Oy, nowadays Fortum) about gas turbine condition monitoring. I continued working for Imatran Voima as research engineer, advanced controls for power production. In 1999 I worked as project manager for neural network optimizer for pulverized coal fired boilers. As an Intelligent solutions specialist I was responsible for control design and commissioning for Fortum Deutschland owned power plant in Germany. In 2001 I joined Fortum Service Deutschland and worked as automation, instrumentation and electrification manager until 2003, when I returned to Finland and joined Metso Automation. At Metso I have sold performance services to our power plant customers, both in pulp and paper and utility segments.
