Ilari Ristolainen was born in Porvoo, Finland, on October 28, 1968. He graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) and received M.Sc. degree in electrical power engineering in 2000. He has worked at the Technical Research Centre of Finland as a Research Scientist until 2006. Currently he is a Senior Development Manager at the Wärtsilä Finland Oy, Power Plants Technology and Solutions/ Power Plant Performance. He is responsible for the R&D activities of power system modeling and simulation environments. His special fields of expertise are electrical machines, power systems, power systems stability, power system modeling and simulation.
