Phil Hemsley is a graduate of the University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in the UK. In his 30 years’ experience with Alstom Power he has worked with Gas and Steam turbines, in R&D and Engineering functions, and in technical and project / programme management roles. He currently holds a senior technical position in the steam turbine retrofit business. Phil has an inquiring mind and is never happy to accept explanations without understanding the reason. He applies this approach both within and outside the work environment. His latest book “The Big Picture” brings much of this thinking together. He was co-founder of the Casa Reom Trust, visiting and raising funds for street children in Mozambique, and he has worked part time for the Christian charity CVM. He is married with two adult daughters.
