Robert Thornton-Jones received his BEng. degree in 1986 from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. Working for Brush Electrical Machines Ltd., Robert specializes in generator excitation systems and power management systems. Robert is a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom, a member of the IET, a member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society and IEEE Standards Association. Robert is currently serving as chair of the IEEE Excitation Systems Sub-Committee and is a participant in a number of IEEE Working Groups including Electrical Machinery Committee WG8. Robert serves as UK representative on the IEC60034-3 turbogenerators standard maintenance team MT6 (TC2).
