Tom has over 23 years’ experience in the power sector covering OEM, consultancy and generating company experience. He has particular expertise in the design, UK legislation compliance and integrity management of high integrity pressure systems. He was previously employed as the mechanical engineering technical authority for ScottishPower’s portfolio of power plant (coal, CCGT & hydro) managing the balance of operational and integrity issues. In his current role at Atkins Power, he leads a team of engineering specialists supplying mechanical engineering consultancy services to the conventional power and gas storage industries. He has also been an active member of the GenSIP pressure systems group, the UK wide organisation tasked with setting industry wide technical standards. He also sits on the UK HRSG and Power Boiler Users group committee boards.
