Anartz Unamuno received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K., for research on hybrid optical MEMS. In 2006, he joined Cavendish Kinetics B.V. to work on the design and modeling of MEMS components, including MEMS based non-volatile memory and RF-MEMS variable capacitors. Since September 2012, he is at Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems, leading the Ultrasonics – CMUT team.
