Randy Martin, MSEE, MBA, PE, is the Director of Mechanical Engineering, for Meggitt Sensing Systems, in Irvine, CA. He has designed and developed MEMS-based acceleration and pressure sensors and signal conditioning circuitry for sensors and control systems. He has led development efforts for Variable Capacitance, Piezoresistive, and Piezoelectric accelerometer and pressure sensor designs used in commercial (car crash dummies, pacemakers), aerospace (navigation, braking) and military (telemetry, missile guidance, fuze) applications. Recently, his area of focus has been development of custom sensor designs for aerospace and military applications including guidance, high-g shock, and other harsh aerospace and military environments.
