Mr. Thompson has 39 years of experience in civil and structural engineering design, planning, and construction for water resource development and wet infrastructure. He has designed and/or managed the design of over several hydropower projects including designs of new intake structures, outlet works, penstocks, powerhouses, fish protection facilities and associated works. He has published articles on penstock design, spillway modifications, dam outlet works design, pumped storage and fish passage features. He has also been the independent consultant for FERC-required dam safety inspections and Part 12D reports. Mr. Thompson has taken many projects from initial conceptual design through final design, bidding and construction management.
