Dr. Brian Polagye is the co-Director of the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center, leading marine renewable energy research, development, and testing at the University of Washington. As an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, his research areas include several aspects of power generation from marine resources, such as current turbine optimization, identification and mitigation of environmental impacts, and instrumentation and infrastructure for marine energy. Dr. Polagye holds a BSME (2000) from Princeton University and MSME (2005) and PhD (2009) from the University of Washington.
