Joe Masterson is an assistant vice president/division leader with TranSystems in Fort Worth, Texas and the deputy project manager for the Parsons/TranSystems TEX Rail joint venture. Joe graduated in 1980 from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, and is licensed in 16 states. Upon graduation Joe took a position with Missouri Pacific Railroad; since leaving the railroad his professional work has focused on railroad projects. Joe joined TranSystems in 1993 and has been involved in the design of numerous railroad infrastructure projects. He has extensive rail experience in design for track geometry, storm drainage facilities, hydraulic studies, route studies, utility relocations, and grading and paving design plans. In 2005 Joe received the Engineering of Excellence award (CEC) for his innovative design on the replacement of a railroad overpass.
