Jennifer is currently the Special Advisor to the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations in Washington, DC. She has been a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Office of the Inspector General – Office of Investigations (HHS-OIG-OI) since 1997. In addition to her previous assignment as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Investigations Branch at OI Headquarters, Jennifer has worked as the Director of the Investigations Unit, Inspector (Medicaid Oversight), and as a Special Agent in the Columbus, Ohio and Knoxville, Tennessee Field Offices. She began her law enforcement career in 1989 as an active duty Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) and later served as a civilian Criminal Investigator for the U.S. Department of the Navy. Jennifer brings a unique perspective to the investigation of health care fraud due to her dual background in both law enforcement and the medical profession. Jennifer spent over nine years as an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force and originally trained as a Military Medical Technician (Medic/EMT). She later transferred to law enforcement where she successfully led a number of investigations to include U.S. vs. Robert Canon, MD (the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association’s Investigation of the Year in 2004). She was also commended for her work as the lead agent for a $40 million Stark Law violation case, and was a participant in HHS-OIG’s Operation Equity Excise (the precursor to the current Medicare Strike Force efforts) that investigated organized crime in Durable Medical Equipment in South Florida. Jennifer has a Master’s Degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Park University. She currently sits on the Board of Directors as the Law Enforcement Liaison to the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association, and is a Co-Chairperson with the Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership – a public/p
