Tairan Wang

Dr. Tairan Wang is Chief Operating Officer at AFFOA. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Operations at OmniGuide Surgical, where he was in charge of all facets of OmniGuide’s proprietary manufacturing process and was instrumental in scaling the hollow-core multi-layer fiber technology over ten years. Prior to joining OmniGuide, Tairan worked as Chip Design Group Leader and Product Manager at Clarendon Photonics. Tairan holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in physics and electrical engineering and computer science, and a Ph.D. in Physics and Material Design, all from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a Compton Fellow from 1996-1997. Additionally, Tairan completed the general management program (GMP) at Harvard Business School in 2009.
