The Boynton
After starting his culinary career at 15 in a pizza shop, who would have thought that 20 years later that this is where his career would bloom - at one of Worcester’s premier pizza spots! A Springfield College graduate, who after college decided to further his desire for cooking by traveling to Mackinac Island, MI and with the tutelage of Chef Johnny Vinczencz, at the Astor Place in the heart of South Beach, Miami found his way back to New England to show his growth in the restaurant industry. Spending several years working with WRG as well as with Chef Richard Romaine, he found a home at the Boynton Restaurant as Executive Chef and General Manager. The Boynton Restaurant has been a Worcester landmark for over 45 years. This once little bar/pizza shop has evolved into one of Central Massachusetts premier restaurants. With the forward thinking of owner Steven John, a million dollar renovation helped to create what is now a top 3 upscale brew pub in New England (Phantom Gourmet). With over 50 beers on draft, including cask condition ales, an extensive menu and large comfortable bar; it is understandable why the Boynton is such a popular haunt.
