Jacob Schiffman oversees the day-to-day purchasing of all food and beverage as well as special events for the Food Network Kitchens. Working closely with the executive chefs,talent, recipe developers, stylists, producers, and food vendors from all over, Jacob is responsible for supplying the products needed for all shows produced in house, the Network's monthly magazine, test kitchen, digital team, special events and more. Jacob's real food journey began during his study abroad semester in Israel where he spent his time exploring the markets and trying new flavors and spices for the first time. After earning his bachelors degree in Psychology and Theater with a minor in Jewish Studies from Wheaton College, a liberal arts school in Massachuttes he went on to receive a Food and Beverage degree from Johnson & Wales, turning his passion into his career. Since graduating Johnson and Wales in 2004, Jacob joined the Food Network Kitchen’s team where he has continued to grow his career, and has over 10 years of experience in the food and television industry. You can typically find him chasing down the freshest and most camera-worthy items or introducing colleagues and friends to the newest food specialty stores and products out there in the field. Jacob is from Providence, Rhode Island, and currently lives in New York City.
