Richard K. Bistline has an extensive background in the public safety profession focused specifically within the areas of operations, teaching, academics, and consultation. Richard served as an active law enforcement officer for twenty years, recently (2014) retiring from the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia. He served as a patrol officer, field trainer, and a full time police academy instructor focusing on crime prevention at alcohol service venues, DUI enforcement, defensive tactics, scenario-based training development, report writing, and leadership development.
