Myra J. Wood, has held the Director of Marketing and Sales role for Ocean Breeze Waterpark since 2004. She is honored to be a member of the IAAPA Marketing and Communications committee and is proud to admit that every year she takes away something from the expo that brings her park success. Myra began her career in marketing for the United Way, and learned early on that having a great story to tell is often more important than the number of dollars you have to share it with. This led her to American Red Cross Blood Services where her passion for the cause resulted in a few people passing out vs. donating their platelets. She continued on her not for profit path working in the artistic department of the Virginia Symphony followed by Norfolk Botanical Garden where she took events like Garden of Lights from small shindigs to local annual traditions. Along the way she developed a healthy obsession with camellias, tulips and dirt. Ten seasons ago, Myra was lured to Ocean Breeze Waterpark, where as Director of Marketing & Sales her days are filled with all the math she avoided in college. Ocean Breeze Waterpark, now part of the Premier family, has undergone two transformative years of capital making this 19 acre boutique park, less than 2 miles south of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, a true escape to paradise.
