Dr. Ryan Carlson earned his PhD from the University of Central Florida. He is an assistant professor of counselor education at the University of South Carolina (USC). Prior to joining the faculty at USC, he served as project director for the University of Central Florida's Marriage & Family Research Institute. Dr. Carlson's research focuses on high-risk couples and families, including relationship education interventions with low-income couples and families, intimate partner violence, and parents of children with special needs. He has published several peer reviewed manuscripts and presented research findings nationally and internationally. Additionally, Dr. Carlson is a licensed mental health counselor with over 10 years of clinical experiences.
