Ana Puig
Research Director, Scholar, Affiliate Faculty in Counselor Education
University of Florida, Gainesville, FL
Dr Puig is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida and a National Certified Counselor. She has over 20 years of clinical experience working with clients individually and in groups, using holistic wellness and humanistic frameworks. She holds a Spirituality and Health certificate from the Center for Spirituality and Health at the University of Florida (UF). She has been a Counselor Educator and Research Director of the Office of Educational Research at UF and has conducted research on creativity, counselor burnout and wellness, and mindfulness in counseling and healthcare and published over 30 articles focusing on related topics over the last 10 years. From 2013-2015, she led a team of editors in the development of a special issue of the Journal of Specialists in Group Work focusing on International Group Work: Research, Teaching, and Practice. Volume 40, Issues 1 and 2 published on February and June 2015. Her most recent efforts have focused on promoting and advancing group work and counselor development globally through research and outreach.
