Dr. Colleen Logan serves as the program director for the M.S. in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, the Career Counseling and Addictions Counseling programs and the Ph.D. Counselor Education and Supervision programs at Walden University. Previously, she held academic and administrative positions at Argosy University and the University of Houston-Victoria, serving in the roles of vice president of academic affairs and associate dean, School of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, respectively. In addition, Dr. Logan maintains a small counseling private practice specializing in affirmative and enrichment counseling. In addition to acting in such academic and administrative positions, Dr. Logan also served as the president of the American Counseling Association (ACA), 2008–2009, and president of the Texas Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling, a division of the Texas Counseling Association, 2009–2010. She has been recognized for her contributions to the field of counseling and affirmative therapy with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and their significant others. Dr. Logan has presented locally, nationally, and internationally, on issues related to counseling gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender clients. In addition, she has authored or co-authored a number of articles and chapters as well as a book regarding how to work effectively with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender clients and their significant others.
